Dan Albas

Dan Albas is the Conservative Member of Parliament for the riding of Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola.

Dan is also the Shadow Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and sits on the House of Commons Industry Committee.

In the past Parliament, Dan Albas was one of the first MPs to have

a private members bill passed and was nominated for a Canadian

Federation of Independent Business’ “Golden Scissors” award

which acknowledges efforts to reduce red tape. He has since

tabled legislation to better protect the savings for those with disabilities.

Prior to the dissolution of the 41st Parliament, Dan was appointed as Parliamentary

Secretary to the President of Treasury Board and was recognized for his near perfect

voting attendance record.

Before entering public life, Dan was the owner of Kick City Martial Arts, responsible

for training adults and young people in the mental and physical discipline of the

martial arts.

Also active in the community, Dan served as the Chair of the United Way and in 2008

he topped the polls and was elected to the City of Penticton municipal council.

Dan is a firm believer in accountability and is well known for maintaining a 24/7 answering service and frequently returns calls on evening and weekends.

In addition to monitoring his own emails, Dan writes weekly columns to provide citizens with regular updates of his activities in Ottawa and is recognized as one of

Canada’s top 10 most active Members of Parliament on
